There’s quite a few people who have written about how to use QuickCal w/ Google delegate calendars, or non-primary Google calendars. This actually isn’t a simple thing to set up in Mac OS 10.6 (MUCH easier in 10.7), so I wanted to give you a quick how-to.

Information referenced from here: http://code.google.com/apis/calendar/caldav/

Step 1 – Get your calendar ID from Google: Login to your Google Calendar web site, find the calendar you want to manage through QuickCal (and iCal), and go into that calendar’s settings. Towards the bottom of that page, you’ll see a section for “Calendar Address”, and on the right you’ll see your calendar ID (It looks like 2917332h1jk3h2kjh32hkhj@group.calendar.com)

Step 2 – Configure this calendar in iCal: Open iCal, go to Preferences, then Accounts, then click the plus button on the bottom left to add a new account. Do NOT choose Google – you’ll be setting up a CalDAV account instead.

Account Type is CalDAV, username/password is your @gmail.com credentials. For the “Server Address”, you’ll need to use the following URI, and be sure to use the calendar ID (including the @group.calendar.com) that you obtained in step 1.

https://www.google.com/calendar/dav/calid/user

So, for my above example, it would look exactly like this:

https://www.google.com/calendar/dav/2917332h1jk3h2kjh32hkhj@group.calendar.com/user

Step 3 (optional) – Make things look pretty: In iCal, right click on your new calendar, pick “Get Info”, and give your Calendar a nice name and pick a snazzy color.

Step 4 – You’re done! Jump into QuickCal, type a few characters from your new delegate calendar, and start creating events!

Remember that QuickCal uses iCal for synchronization to Google (currently), so be sure to have iCal running if you need the sync.
